Van Ruiten joins up with the historic Union Hotel Restaurant & Bar for Tapas and Wine!  This will be our second Wine Dinner with this fantastic, friendly Restaurant located in charming Benicia, Ca.  The owner, Gabby, greets you as if you’ve been coming for years, the food is sinfully good, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting.

Menu:

2010 Van Ruiten Chardonnay paired with Paella, with mussels, prawns, salmon, chicken, sausage, peas and cilantro in a saffron Chardonnay.

2009 Van Ruiten Reserve “Ancient Vine” Carignane paired with Chicken Breast, stuffed with prosciutto, mushrooms, and fresh mozzarella.  Topped with a rosemary Carignane reduction and served with pesto linguine.

2008 Van Ruiten Cabernet Sauvignon paired with Filet Mignon.  Grilled and topped with shallots, thyme, and a brandy Cabernet demi-glaze, served with polenta and spinach.

2007 Van Ruiten Reserve “Late Harvest” Viognier paired with Bread Pudding in a house made whisky sauce.

As long time friends of the Van Ruiten Family, F&M Bank is proud to share the news that John and Ann Van Ruiten will be recognized as the “2011 Lodi Distinguished Citizens of the Year”. A recognition dinner, organized by the Boy Scouts of America, Greater Yosemite Council, will be held on Sunday, March 4th, 2012 at Wine and Roses in Lodi.

This annual event is a special way to recognize and celebrate the contributions of a local commumity member, whose hard work; character, community involvement, and principaled leadership have helped to build Lodi into the quality community we all value. As many can attest, these words so accurately reflect the success story of John and Ann.

What is Glory Days Wine?

Glory Days wine was born of the harvest and is truly the result of Lodi’s nearly perfect growing

conditions and over 1000 acres of vineyards to farm and harvest. The wine was first created from back to back bumper crops that left the winery with so much excess premium fruit and juice, (wine) that the winery created the Glory Days Label as the Winery’s “Value Brand”.
